Riverside Community Trust was set up by Riverside Church and is organised and managed in partnership with its members and relevant organisations and agencies. Key partners are South Ayrshire Alcohol & Drug Partnership, South Ayrshire Council Housing department, and South Ayrshire Charitable Trust.
A long-held objective of the church has been “to enjoy and glorify God in serving our local community”. More specifically we do this “by seeking to promote justice at all levels of society and by finding ways of expressing love and care for our neighbours and fellow-citizens”.
With regard to Riverside Community Trust this objective is realised in the following terms:
To relieve the suffering and meet the long term needs of homeless and vulnerable people.
Through Christian love in action clients will be helped through and out of homelessness, enabled to engage with relevant services and empowered (as far as is relevant to the individual’s circumstances) to live independently within society.
☑ We affirm the worth and individuality of all people.
☑ We are committed to the pursuit of integrity in all we do.
☑ As an organisation we are committed to be professional, efficient and law abiding.
☑ We are committed to assisting all clients regardless of background or belief.
☑ As employers we are committed to respect for the individual and the right to equal opportunity for all staff.
☑ As a Christian organisation, we believe in one God, accept the Bible as his Word and seek to demonstrate his love.
☑ We value partnerships with local government, NHS, all relevant organisations and agencies, individuals and other churches which lead to mutual trust, co-operation and the engagement of relevant and effective services with a vulnerable and hard to reach client group.
☑ We value an environment that fosters care, love and support and promotes the development of people in the realisation of their potential.
